Learn about one of New Bedford’s oldest maritime paint suppliers

The Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society will hold its latest presentation Thursday, May 16, exploring one of New Bedford’s oldest maritime paint suppliers, the George Kirby, Jr. Paint Company.
 
The presentation will be held at 1205 Russells Mills Road, starting at 6:30 p.m.
 
Local photographer Phil Mello will be leading the presentation on the company, which was originally established in 1846. The illustrated presentation will feature historical and contemporary photographs as well as a video by Mark Starr. George Kirby IV will also be joining the presentation. 
 
The Historical Society will be briefly exploring the connection between George Kirby and Russells Mills Village. 
 
A Question & Answer session will follow the presentation. 
 
This is a free presentation, with a $5 suggested donation. Light refreshments will be served.
