Saint Anne’s Hospital offers multiple scholarship opportunities for health care students

Fall River, MA - Saint Anne’s Hospital has announced the availability of scholarships for students who are pursuing higher education in medicine, nursing, allied health, or other health care careers.

Applicants must be enrolled or entering a program at an accredited college, university, or technical school and be able to use awards for the 2019-2020 academic year. Other criteria also apply. Applications and complete details for the following scholarships are available for download on Saint Anne’s Hospital website at https://www.saintanneshospital.org/for-professionals.

For students who are pursuing a bachelor of science degree in nursing:
Saint Anne’s Hospital offers the 2019 Nursing Memorial Scholarship program in memory of Darcy E. Nientimp, BSN, RN. Darcy was an SAH ICU nurse who passed away in 2015 at age 26. Application deadline: March 29. For more information about this scholarship program, email SAHMail@steward.org.

For students who are entering or pursuing a degree in nursing, allied health, or other health care profession at an accredited college, university, or technical school:
The Saint Anne’s Hospital Medical Staff is offering two $3,000 scholarships:
• The Carmela Sofia, MD, Scholarship for students in the community
• The John Arcuri, MD, Scholarship for students who are members of the greater Saint Anne’s Hospital family (employee, family member of employee, medical staff family member).

For pre-med students, medical students, nursing students, or others who are entering or pursuing a degree in allied health or other health care profession:
The Massachusetts-Rhode Island Independent Physician Association (IPA) is offering the Malcolm W. MacDonald, MD, Memorial Scholarship Award ($1,000). Application deadline: April 30. For more information about this award, contact the Massachusetts-Rhode Island IPA, 508-674-5600, ext. 2799.

For bilingual and/or bicultural students pursuing a career in health care or related field:
