A Rhode Island man has been ordered held without bail on a slew of charges relating to a double stabbing in Dartmouth on March 14.

Sadaryl Parham, 24, of Pawtucket, RI, is suspected of stabbing two people at the Dunkin Donuts/AT&T Plaza at 450 State Road at around 7:13 p.m.

According to Dartmouth Police Det. Kyle Costa, Parham and two other men met at the plaza, where one of the men purchased cell phones for Parham. An argument broke out relating to the purchase, which escalated into Parham allegedly stabbing the other two men.

An officer responding to the stabbing call attempted to pull Parham over on State Road near Reed Road. Parham’s car, a Mercedes, was reported to have fled the scene.

Parham allegedly failed to stop, and drove north on Reed Road at a high rate of speed. Parham lost control of the Mercedes, crashed on Deerfield Road, and ran into a swampy area off of Deerfield Road. Parham was found and arrested a short time later.

The two men stabbed were both sent to area hospitals. One of the men was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital with minor injuries. The other man was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with severe but not life threatening injuries.

Parham was also hospitalized for a cut to his hand.

Parham appeared in court on March 15 for arraignment on two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault to murder, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failure to stop for police, negligent operation, marked lanes violation, and speeding.

He was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing, which is scheduled for March 21.

According to court records, the two victims in the case are both Fall River residents. One of the victims, a 44-year-old man, was stabbed in the chest and back of the head. A 26-year-old man was stabbed in the back and sustained wounds to his hands.

The incident remains under investigation by both the Dartmouth Police Department Investigative Services Division and Patrol Division.
