Friday, Dec. 5
Padanaram Holiday Stroll
Tis the season for the annual Padanaram Village buoy tree lighting. The annual lighting and stroll will be happening on Friday, Dec. 5 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Live music will be playing as guests stroll through the village with treats and warm beverages, the shops decorated for the holiday. Santa will be there for photos with kids. At 6:30 p.m., the tree will be lit.
Saturday, Dec. 6
Holiday tunes coming to the North Branch Library
On Saturday, Dec. 6 a trio from the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra will be visting the North Branch Library for a concert of light classic selections and seasonal favorites.
The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. at 211 Cross Road. This event is being held by the Friends of the Dartmouth Libraries. For more information, email fodl.libraries@gmail.com.
Town Hall tree lighting
The Parks and Recreation department is holding their annual tree lighting ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
There will be more than the tree brightening the town hall, there will be activities, crafts, refreshments and music.
The town hall is located at 400 Slocum Road. In the case of rain, this event will be held on Sunday, Dec. 7.
Christmas past and present
Join the Christian Fellowship Center at Smith Mills for a Christmas party on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. there will be hayrides, a petting zoo, a bonfire, village shopping and more. Starting at 6 p.m. in the chapel, members of the church will perform a live nativity scene, read the story of Jesus’ birth from the Bible and everyone can sing carols together. The rain date is Saturday, Dec. 13. Smith Mills is located at 1344 Tucker Rd.

Fill the Bus annual toy drive
Join the Dartmouth Police Department in filling a bus with toys during their annual Fill the Bus Toy Drive.
The police will be in the Target parking lot on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Target is located at 479 State Road.
Holiday shopping at Allendales'
Join the Allendale Country Club for a holiday shopping extravaganza on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be local businesses and a raffle to find the perfect gift for everyone. Allendale Country Club is located at 1047 Allen Street.
Visit Santa Paws
Bring the furry friends to get a photo with Santa Paws at the Humane Society and Shelter Southcoast on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. They ask all pets be either leashed or in a carrier. All proceeds will benefit the animals in need at the shelter.
The Society and Shelter is located at 31 Ventura Drive.
Wednesday, Dec. 17
A blue Christmas service of hope
Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church will be hosting a “Blue Christmas: A Service of Hope and Healing When the Holidays Hurt” on Wednesday, Dec. 17 starting at 7 p.m.
This service is to help those hurting, grieving, lonely or struggling during the darkest time of the year, the Winter Solstice. The church is inclusive and welcoming to all.
The church is located at 351 Elm Street.
Sunday, Dec. 21
Caroling at a concert
The Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society will be having a Christmas Concert at the Schoolhouse on Sunday, Dec. 21 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The concert will start with the Fall River Fipple Fluters, playing music from all around the world. At 3 p.m., Jim Bean and Friends will read “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and lead a carolling session.
The concert will be at the Russells Mills Schoolhouse, which is located at 1205 Russells Mills Road.
