Learn about the sinking of the SS Larchmont

On Saturday, Feb. 7, learn about the sinking of the SS Larchmont off Watch Hill, which occurred in February of 1907.

The sinking occurred when the ship collided with the schooner Harry Knowlton three miles offshore.

Daniel Harrington's presentation will cover the story of the ship, its crew, the passengers, and stories of survivial, panic, murder and miracles. Harrington, who is a director of the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame, will use digitally restored photos and eyewitness accounts in his presentation.

This presentation will be held at the North Branch Library at 211 Cross Road and begins at 2 p.m.
