Author Maureen Boyle will be discussing her book, “The Ghost: The Murder of Police Chief Greg Adams and the Hunt for his Killer’’ during two upcoming appearances at Dartmouth libraries.

The book explores the murder of a small town Pennsylvania police chief and the discovery of his killer’s remains in a quiet Dartmouth neighborhood.Boyle is also the author of “Shallow Graves: The Hunt for the New Bedford Highway Serial Killer.’’

The first reading will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 28 at the north branch, 211 Cross Road.

The second event is at 6 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 3 at the Southworth library, 732 Dartmouth St.
