Locals had beef with escaped cows
Drivers in Dartmouth had to moo-ve over on Old Fall River Road on Thanksgiving weekend for a group of escapees — in this case, three brown and white cows.
The cows were captured by Dartmouth Animal Control in the afternoon of Sunday, Nov. 30 and had been wandering since the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 26.
“They have been here on my property quite a bit since Wednesday evening. But that’s better than being on the road,” said Christine Lechan, “They surprised me there in my driveway on Thanksgiving morning.”
The Dartmouth Police Department and Animal Control made posts online on Friday, Nov. 28 to ask for public help finding the cows and warn people to pay closer attention when driving for the cows’ safety. They updated the post on Sunday, announcing the cows had been caught.
At this time, Animal Control is unavailable to comment on details, such as whose cows they are.
