Papa Gino’s has filed for bankruptcy, leaving two Papa Gino’s and one D’Angelo’s sub shop in Dartmouth shuttered forever. 

Phone calls to both Dartmouth Papa Gino’s locations and the D’Angelo’s restaurant result in a recorded message confirming that the restaurants are permanently closed. The restaurants closed suddenly over the weekend. 

It was not immediately clear why the restaurants had been shuttered, but on Monday, the chain confirmed it had filed for bankruptcy and had been sold. It was among dozens of locations across the region shuttered. 

Not all the chain’s locations have closed: 100 Papa Gino’s and 78  D’Angelo’s remain open across New England.
