Revisions made to Dartmouth’s electricity aggregation plan
The town of Dartmouth is holding a 30-day public review period for its revised aggregation plan for Dartmouth Community Electricity Aggregation, which is the town’s official electricity supply program.
The program provides new electricity supply options and more renewable energy options to Dartmouth residents and businesses. The delivery of electricity and billing for use is still completed through Eversource.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities issued new rules for aggregation plans in July 2024, which expand local authority for cities and towns concerning the operation of their programs and increase public transparency about program operations, according to the department’s Guidelines for Municipal Aggregators.
The town of Dartmouth’s revisions ensure that the plan aligns with these new guidelines, the town said.
The revised plan won’t affect current electricity supply options and prices, which are fixed until November 2025. Existing participants will not need to take any actions to continue receiving the current pricing.
