Solstice celebration Dec. 21 at St. Peter’s

Dec 2, 2021

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is hosting a winter solstice celebration to commemorate the return of light after the longest night of the year at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21 outside the church, 351 Elm St.

The celebration will feature fire, songs, rituals, drumming and hot cider. This mirrors the actions of ancient civilizations that circled sacred fires on hilltops and in holy places on the longest nights.
