St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Dartmouth has received $6,500 from the SouthCoast Community Foundation as part of a nearly half-million dollar grant to 39 nonprofits across southeastern Massachusetts.

The funding will help support The Bridge, a counseling center that is a ministry of St. Peter’s Church.

This $479,495 grant aims to address the impact of COVID-19 on the recipients’ organizations, programming, and the communities they serve, according to information provided by the foundation.

The grant focuses on vaccine hesitancy and equity and operational needs for organizations from the arts and culture, economic opportunity, and education sectors.

“We see a continuing urgent need to address vaccine hesitancy and help our local nonprofits reimagine their organizations as they navigate the lingering, economic impact of the pandemic,’’ said Sarah Rose, director of engagement for the SouthCoast Community Foundation. “We are so happy that we can help them through this difficult time.”
