Learn about the Goat Lady
Join author and illustrator Jane Bregoli and the Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society on Sunday, Dec. 14 for a presentation about Noelie Houle, a French Canadian immigrant who lived on Chase Road and at one time raised 79 goats and received the nickname "The Goat Lady."
Bregoli first started working on her first children's book "The Goat Lady" with paintings she drew while working on her thesis project as a student at UMass Dartmouth.
Bregoli recently wrote and illustrated a new children's book "The Goat Lady Whispers to Bees," which is based on real-life events.
At this event, meet Bregoli, listen to her stories, and see the artwork of Noelie Houle and her goats.
This event begins at 2 p.m. at 1205 Russells Mills Road.
Tuesday, Dec. 16
Constitutional Writes
An event with both rights and writes. Experience what it was like to be a founding father by writing the constitution out by hand at the North Branch Library.
Notebooks and copies of the Constitution will be provided, but guests must bring their own writing tool. Guests can stay and write for the full two hours or as short as preferred.
This is a time for patrons to reflect internally, and there will be no political debate.
Handwriting the Constitution was a project started in 2017 that invites people to familiarize themselves with the rights of Americans, but also to explore writing by hand.
The events will be on Tuesdays once a month. On Nov. 18, January 20, March 17 and May 19 the event will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. On Dec. 16, February 17, and April 21 it will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
This event is free and registration is not required. The North Branch Library is located at 211 Cross Road.
