Gatemen Summer Clinics Begin in Two Weeks
The Wareham Gatemen will be hosting its annual youth clinics with new additions of both a hitting and pitching clinic starting two weeks from today, June 18.
Participants in the Gatemen clinics will have the chance to work with the Gatemen coaching staff as well as learning from some of the nations rising stars, the Gatemen players.
The Gatemen youth clinic has been around for over a decade and hosts children age 5-14. For the younger kids, the youth clinic is a great way to learn the game of baseball and for the older kids, the clinic offers a way for them to hone their skills.
The youth clinic will run for five sessions this summer starting July 2 and run each week until the last session ends on August 3.
The new clinic additions this year, the hitting and pitching clinics, will be geared more towards kids who have learned the game and are looking to improve their skills in a specific area. These clinics will be for kids who will be in 8th grade in the fall and up.
The hitting clinics and pitching clinics will take place at the end of July and beginning of August.
For all clinics, there is a $50 fee. However, the fee includes a t-shirt. Clinic attendees are also invited to one home game the week of their clinic to take the field with the team for the national anthem.
Each of the clinics will take place on Spillane Field. Both the pitching and hitting clinics will be held rain or shine, with the youth clinics weather decisions being decided by the coaching staff.
