Wareham Gatemen Read and Play with Students at Minot Forest

Jun 21, 2018

The Wareham Gatemen stopped by Minot Forest elementary this morning, June 21, to read with the students and answer their questions.

This was the third visit to a school for the Gatemen reading program this season. The Gatemen previously visited Sippican Elementary and Rochester Memorial to read with the students.

During this visit to Minot Forest elementary, the players read to the students then answered questions and if there was time left over the players stuck around to play with the students.

Players did everything from playing “trains” to getting their hands messy with some shaving cream with the students. At one point, a couple of the players went to the gym to play some baseball with a few of the students.

The Gatemen players in attendance for this morning’s event were Ryan Garcia, Brendan White, Parker Phillips, Joey Matulovich, Ryan Stoudemire, and Austin Shenton.

The Gatemen will visit Center School tomorrow morning, June 22, for the fourth stop its reading program.

For Gatemen baseball action, the Gatemen will travel to Doran Park in Bourne to take on in-division rival the Bourne Braves at 6:00pm tonight, June 21. The Gatemen will be looking to move their win streak to three games while snapping the Braves three game win streak.

The Gatemen’s next home game is Saturday, June 23, when they take on the Brewster Whitecaps at 6:30pm on Spillane Field.
