THIRD ANNUAL HOLIDAY OYSTER SALE! – DECEMBER 21 at the Lloyd Center for the Environment

The Lloyd Center for the Environment is, once again, offering Fresh Cuttyhunk Oysters from Cuttyhunk Shellfish Farms! A wonderful holiday tradition to benefit the Lloyd Center’s education programs.

Supporters can order fresh oysters by the dozen, as well as shucking knives. Oysters are $30 per dozen and will keep well for up to 10 days under refrigeration. Shucking knives are $15 each. A reusable, thermal Lloyd Center bag will be given to all those ordering a minimum of a dozen oysters and a shucking knife. In addition, an email will be sent to all supporters after placing an order with links to a shucking video and recipe for Grilled Oysters.

All orders must be placed and pre-paid for by Monday, December 19, 10:00 a.m. With a limited number of oysters and knives available, reserve your fresh oysters now! Oysters may be purchased online here, or by leaving a message at 508-990-0505 x10. Every purchase includes a generous donation to support Lloyd Center education programs.

All orders must be picked up on Wednesday, December 21 between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the Lloyd Center’s Welcome Center located at 430 Potomska Road in Dartmouth. The Lloyd Center cannot be held responsible for any orders not picked up during this period.

ABOUT THE LLOYD CENTER

The Lloyd Center for the Environment, a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, founded in 1978 and situated with its headquarters and spectacular nature preserve overlooking the scenic Slocum River estuary, has achieved a well-earned reputation for excellence in environmental research and education. Through its innovative outreach programs, it has established itself as a highly regarded leader in the ongoing effort to raise awareness of the area’s fragile coastal resources and the importance of protecting them.

The Center’s 82-acre property offers over five miles of walking trails, the “Bridge to Discovery” dock on the Slocum River, vernal pools, oak-hickory forest, freshwater wetlands, salt marsh, estuary views, and is home to Koko, an injured Screech owl.

Although currently closed for renovations, the main building will be open from 10am to 4pm, Tuesdays through Saturdays, and on Sundays, June - September, free of charge, when it reopens to the public.
