Kayak and Paddleboard camp at the Dartmouth YMCA

Jun 18, 2019

Camp Metacomet at the Dartmouth YMCA is partnering with Osprey Sea & Surf Adventures to offer kayak and paddleboard camp for kids ages 11 to 15. From July 8 through August 9, Camp Metacomet will offer campers the opportunity to learn from trained kayak and paddleboard instructors about technique, best practices, and safety in open water.

Campers will launch into the open water from Apponagansett Beach with two trained instructors from Osprey and one lifeguard/counselor from Camp Metacomet. For three hours a day, from 9 a.m. to noon, campers will paddle, explore, and learn about the amazing natural landscapes and features around us.

At noon, campers will eat lunch before heading back to Camp Metacomet to enjoy all the other exciting things our camp has to offer. Archery, rock climbing, and arts and crafts are just a few of the afternoon activities in store for our kayak and paddleboard experts.

The YMCA is the nation’s leading nonprofit. We’re committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. YMCA Southcoast has been working to provide health and social services to thousands of youth, families and individuals throughout the region for more than 150 years.
