Coinciding with the Music from Land’s End Wareham festival, Artistic Director violinist Ariadne Daskalakis – a Boston/Wareham native currently based in Germany, and an alumna of the Juilliard School, Harvard/Radcliffe College and the New England Conservatory Prep School – announces the release of her newest CD in August: Volume 1 of the complete works by Franz Schubert on the label BIS. On the recording she is joined for the violin concertos by the Kölner Akademie under Michael Alexander Willens, and in the Sonatas and Duos by pianist Paolo Giacometti. The complete recording is unique in its combination of repertoire and period instruments.

Ms. Daskalakis will arrive in Massachusetts after performing the Mendelssohn E minor Violin Concerto at the Cantiere festival in Montepulciano, Italy, with the Orchestra della Toscana under György Rath. She is also Professor of Violin at the Cologne Conservatory and Artistic Director of the European Academy for Music and Art “Palazzo Ricci”.
