Mudstone Studios on Cranberry Highway in Wareham is beginning a new session of ceramics classes on January 6th. We offer beginner handbuilding, beginner wheel classes, and even sculpture for the beginner! Here is a list of our January and February classes:

Session I

Mondays: 2:00 TO 5:00 p.m. 6 sessions Animal Sculpture with Ellen Blomgren. Jan 6-February 10. Ellen is a phenomenal animal sculptor who creates realistic and whimsical animals that overflow with personality. She can teach you her secrets to success for sure. If you have an animal that you would like to create, join us on Monday nights and sign up now!

Tuesdays 6-9p.m Beginner Wheel Throwing with Jessica Matthews.  Begins January 7th. Six sessions will have you throwing basic forms on the wheel, and if you come in during open studio times (included in the class) you will love to see your progress! Intermediate throwing also included for students with experience. 

Wednesdays:  5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Handbuilt Functional Pottery with Theresa Hadley. 6 sessions beginning on January 8th.  Love Ceramics, but throwing is not your thing? You will learn how to handbuild mugs, bowls, platters, and other 3 dimensional forms that you wish to create. Basic handbuilding techniques will be taught and applied to several types of functional pottery. 

Thursdays: 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Beginner Wheel Throwing with Mary Fisness. Mary is phenomenal with the beginning potter, and will teach wheel throwing techniques that will have you creating in no time! 

Open studio visits are included with the cost of classes, so you are free to come in on Monday nights, Wednesday afternoons and Saturday afternoons to work on your pieces between classes with helpers available during those times. 

Session II

Tuesdays: Beginner Wheel Throwing with Jessica Matthews 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. 6 sessions beginning February 25th.

Wednesdays: Oceanic Sea Creatures with Theresa Hadley 9:00 a.m. to noon. 6 sessions beginning February 26th. We will sculpt whales, fish, octupus, starfish in motion, and much more!

Thursdays: Birds Sculpting with Theresa Hadley  2 sessions 6-9 p.m.February 27 and March 6

                 Bird Houses With Theresa Hadley   4 sessions 6-9 p.m. beginning March 13.
