NBSO’s Chamber Season Closes with Mastery and Mystery

Mar 13, 2017

The New Bedford Symphony Orchestra’s South Coast Chamber Music series wraps its very popular season with Mastery and Mystery, a concert featuring two French masterpieces and a viola sonata shrouded in mystery. Faure’s ravishing Piano Quartet in C Minor and the iconic Ravel Trio hold their own against Rebecca Clarke’s wildly sensuous Viola Sonata, a work at first presumed written by Ravel under a pseudonym - because it was that good! Featuring Raluca Dumitrache, violin; Don Krishnaswami, viola; Timothy Roberts, cello; Janice Weber, piano.

Two performances are scheduled: Saturday, April 1, 4pm, St. Gabriel’s Church, 124 Front Street, Marion, and Sunday, April 2, 4pm, St. Peter’s Church, 351 Elm Street, South Dartmouth. Admission is $20 at the door.
