NBSO Concert Cancellations

Jul 13, 2020

Due to the state reopening guidelines and concern for everyone’s health and safety, the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra has decided to cancel the August 21 and September 12/13 concerts at the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center and the August 28 concert at Kilburn Mill Event Center.

If you hold tickets for NBSO 2019-2020 season concerts originally scheduled for March 14, April 18, April 19, May 23, or August 21, or Symphony on Tap for August 28, please contact us by July 31 to indicate whether you would like to donate the ticket price as a tax-deductible contribution to the NBSO, exchange the tickets for a future concert, or request a refund by emailing asmith@nbsymphony.org or calling the NBSO office at (508) 999-6276, ext. 222 and leaving a message. (We are working remotely but checking voicemail daily.) Ticket holders must inform the NBSO by July 31 of their intention to exchange their tickets or request a refund of their ticket price as the ticketing software will automatically convert the ticket price to a tax-deductible donation to the NBSO after that date.

The health and safety of our audiences, musicians, and staff is our top priority, and our decision to cancel performances is to help ensure the well-being of everyone in our community. While we look forward to seeing you at a live performance, we do not know exactly when that will be possible. We are continuing with our plans for the 2020-2021 season with the understanding that changes to our schedule will likely be necessary. Our season opening concerts in September are being revamped, and further details will be forthcoming. Because of the special circumstances we are all facing, we have decided to institute a one-year grace period for 2019-2020 season subscribers to save their seats. That means that current subscribers will not lose their seat assignments if they decide not to subscribe to the 2020-2021 season.
