NBSO Season Finale this Saturday!

May 22, 2019

Don’t miss the season finale of the amazing 2018-2019 season! Epic Journeys features the brilliant pianist Joyce Yang.

Music Director Yaniv Dinur describes the season finale as an epic as well as personal concert. The program opens with Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances, the composer’s last work and a summary of his life journey. In Lineage, Canadian composer Zosha Di Castri writes her own autobiographical piece about what it means to be Canadian. In between, Yang performs Barber’s feverish Piano Concerto, a unique and extraordinary piece in the composer’s sound world. The Grammy-nominated Yang will captivate the audience with her virtuosity, lyricism, and interpretive sensitivity.

Epic Journeys will take place on Saturday, May 25, 7:30 pm, at the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center in downtown New Bedford. Concert sponsors are Robert B. Feingold & Associates, P.C., and Burke & Lamb, P.C. Tickets are $30‒$65, with $10 student tickets (not available online). Purchase tickets through the Z box office, 508-994-2900, or online at www.nbsymphony.org. Convenient concert parking is available in the Z garage.
