Pickleball is Life!

Nov 13, 2022

Join the Friends of the Dartmouth Libraries on Tuesday, November 15, at 6:30 p.m. to hear local author Erin McHugh discuss the sports craze that’s sweeping the nation, pickleball.  She’ll trace the sport’s quirky origins to its modern-day cult following.  Her presentation will be held at the Southworth Library.

Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America and has developed a wildly enthusiastic following that includes the speaker.  Her book, Pickleball Is Life: The Complete Guide to Feeding Your Obsession, highlights the rules and the fun of the game.  A book signing will follow the event.

Erin McHugh is the author of 30 books of humor, inspiration, trivia, children’s, history, and LGBTQ topics.  A former publishing industry executive, she has worked for various publishers and was Executive Vice President and Creative Partner at Franklin Spier, the publishing advertising agency.  McHugh also has enjoyed a second career as a Barnes & Noble bookseller in New York City, a judge in Barnes & Noble’s national Discover Great New Writers program, and the moderator of a popular local book group.  A devoted pickleballer, Erin was featured in a recent CBS Saturday Morning segment on the sport.

Ms. McHugh’s presentation will be held in the Haskell Room, Southworth Library, 732 Dartmouth Street, Dartmouth.  For more information, please email fodl.libraries@gmail.com.
