Volunteering on the SouthCoast
Event has passed
Join the Friends of the Dartmouth Libraries on Thursday, May 16, at 1:30 p.m. for a presentation on volunteering in the South Coast area. Victoria Grasela, Vice President of Marketing & Community Engagement at United Way of Greater New Bedford, will discuss how to search for volunteer opportunities by using Volunteer SouthCoast (VSC), a free online database that connects volunteers with opportunities locally. She’ll show audience members how to use VSC to find volunteer positions that match their interests and schedules, set up their profiles, and track their hours and impact. The program is designed for people who have the desire to make a difference in their community but don’t know where to begin. The presentation will be held at Southworth Library.
Volunteer SouthCoast is a partnership between the United Ways of Greater New Bedford and Greater Plymouth County and is a regional effort to promote volunteerism. At any given time, more than 200 volunteer opportunities are listed on the site.
Attendees are encouraged to pre-register at https://unitedwayofgnb.org/volunteer-southcoast-training or by emailing vgrasela@unitedwayofgnb.org.
Ms. Grasela’s presentation will be held in the Haskell Room at Southworth Library, 732 Dartmouth Street, South Dartmouth. For more information, please e-mail fodl.libraries@gmail.com.
