Affordable housing project moves forward
The Select Board approved a $100,000 loan agreement from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund to go toward the construction of a 36-unit affordable housing apartment complex at Lincoln Park Place.
Attorney Chip Mulford, a representative of Lincoln Park Place LLC, said that the building should be completed and filling with tenants by the end of January 2016.
The affordable housing complex is part of a bigger construction plan at the 42-acre site.
Plans include 57 single-family homes on the southern part of Lincoln Park Place, between Reed and Beeden Roads. There will also be three residential units, two of which will be used for elderly housing and one will become affordable housing. A second part of the project will add five mixed-use buildings along Route 6.
The loan from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund is one of many loans that have been granted to the construction project.
