Assistant town manager leaving for job in Halifax

Dec 5, 2022

Assistant Town Administrator Cody Haddad is leaving Dartmouth, Town Administrator Shawn MacInnes announced during the Select Board’s Dec. 5. Meeting.

According to MacInnes, Haddad has accepted a job to be the next town administrator for Halifax. Haddad’s last day in Dartmouth will be Jan. 13, 2023.

Haddad was appointed to be the town’s director of development in 2020 following the retirement of Deb Melina-Wender. The position was officially changed to assistant town administrator after this year’s Spring Town Meeting.

Prior to that, Haddad served as an intern under MacInnes beginning in 2018.

Since starting at Town Hall, Haddad has set up host community agreements with several new marijuana businesses, helped oversee two elections, and developed economic revitalization plans, along with securing a number of grants for the town.

“He’s grown a lot in the time he’s been here,” MacInnes said. “He’s a bright individual who does really good work.’

As Haddad departs, MacInnes said the town will quickly get to work to find a suitable replacement as soon as possible.
