Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride

Aug 4, 2020

The 14th annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride will begin on Sunday, Oct. 4 — with a few modifications in place.

The annual bike ride to raise funds for the Buzzards Bay Coalition includes a 35, 75, or 100-mile route that winds past coastal farmlands, beaches, cranberry bogs, and scenic harbors on the way to Woods Hole, where all cyclists finish the ride.

To comply with social distancing protocols, cyclists will be stretched over 100 miles of open roads, with rest stops situated in locations with plenty of open space.

Riders will be required to wear masks at the starting line, lunch line, finish line, and bus locations. Additional masks, hand sanitizer and disinfectant will be available at each rest stop and gathering area.

To avoid crowding, organizers have scheduled flexible start windows rather than a single mass start.

Family and friends will be limited at the finish line.

Each rider will receive a t-shirt and a signature 2020 "Bike for Clean Water" finisher's pint glass.
