Cedar Dell ‘takes steps’ to raise awareness
Residents and associates of Cedar Dell, an assisted living facility in Dartmouth, walked two miles around the residence on Wednesday, Aug. 21 to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Association.
“Weather wise and spirit wise — we could not have asked for a better day,” said Amanda Ponichtera, engagement director for Cedar Dell.
The walk raised almost $500 and included a time for participants to enjoy refreshments and a sherbert bar.
Ponichtera said in addition to the walk, Cedar Dell hosted a jewelry sale, raising an additional $420 for the cause.
“It was a busy August at Cedar Dell,” she said, highlighting the peach pie, fresh egg and Alzheimer's t-shirt sales as well as the 50/50 raffle, “Wear Your Jeans to Work Fridays” and a Car Wash Basket Raffle, which also contributed to the facility’s efforts.
“We could not be prouder of our residents and their families, visitors, service providers and our associates for their generosity,” Ponichtera added.
