Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce will be the headliner at the 20th annual Celebrity Scholarship Dinner hosted by the UMass Dartmouth Center for Marketing Research.

The dinner will take place on April 2 at 6 p.m. at the Venus de Milo in Swansea, MA.

Guests will be able to enjoy a four-course meal as well as hear Pierce speak and answer questions from the crowd.

There will also be a raffle of a jersey signed by Pierce and a silent auction including various Boston Celtics sports memorabilia.

Photographs signed onsite by Pierce will also be available to purchase, accompanied by a photo opportunity.

Pierce, who played 15 seasons with the Celtics, is a ten-time NBA All Star, NBA Champion, and NBA Finals MVP. He holds several Celtics records for scoring and is now a broadcaster for ESPN.

All proceeds from the Celebrity Scholarship Dinner go towards scholarships for UMass Dartmouth students.

Tickets are $150 each, or $1500 per table of 10. There is also an opportunity to sponsor a scholarship recipient for $1000.

Since the Celebrity Scholarship Dinner began, the Center for Marketing Research has raised more than $200,000 for student scholarships. Celebrity guests have included local sport stars Bill Russell, David Ortiz, Pedro Martinez, and Rodney Harrison.

Pierce will take the stage with donors to help award scholarships presented in the donor’s name. Scholarships are given in the amount of $1000. Professional photographs will also be taken during the evening.
