Dartmouth High wins AP Computer Science Female Diversity award

Dartmouth High has won a diversity award for its computer science classes during the 2020-21 academic year, school officials announced Jan. 19.

The high school was one of 760 across the country recognized  the College Board AP ® Computer Science Female Diversity Award for achieving high female representation in AP Computer Science Principles.

“We’re thrilled to congratulate our female AP computer science students and their teachers, Mr. Guillotte, Mr. Bosworth and Ms. Hill on this step toward gender parity in computer science education,” said Dartmouth High Principal Ross Thibault. “We’re honored that our school earned this distinction and look forward to seeing these young women and others pursue and achieve success in computer science education and STEM related careers.”

According to a press release, schools honored with the AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award have expanded girls’ access in AP Computer Science courses.
