Dartmouth students to explore the Iberian Peninsula next Spring

Jan 8, 2024

Next April, several Dartmouth students will be packing their bags and venturing across the Atlantic for a nine-day adventure of Spain and Portugal. The trip was approved by the School Committee at its Jan. 8 meeting.

Students will embark on the same trip this spring as well. Beginning with Madrid, 47 students will immerse themselves in the culture of the Iberian Peninsula, visiting several cities, eating local cuisine, going to museums, and visiting historical landmarks. Nathan Carvalho, a Portuguese language teacher at the high school, will lead the trip.

“I think this is a great opportunity for our students,” said School Committee Vice Chairperson Chris Oliver.

Students who were not chosen to go this year have been placed on a waiting list to go on a similar trip to Spain and Portugal the following spring. Students will be documenting their trip in a live blog.
