Design a video game with UMass Dartmouth

Mar 11, 2021

Think you can make a game better than “Halo 3: ODST”?

During the weekend of March 20, UMass Dartmouth and the Massachusetts Digital Games Institute invites high school and college students to take part in the Jump Start Game Jam.

The two day event, which will be held virtually, lets participants try their hand at creating a video game — from coding on up.

Attendees will receive an introductory online game jam information “kit.” The "kit" will include game jam basics, recommendations for free software, and game assets for the weekend. Gamers can also listen to lectures from game industry professionals.

The games created during the jam will be posted online on Itch.io for all to play after the event.

The virtual event is free, but preregistration is required by March 19. To sign up, visit www.eventbrite.com/e/jump-start-game-jam-tickets-144481501059.
