Don’t miss the chance to catch the dynamic sights of Demarest Lloyd State Park during the center’s Summer Solstice Plover Stroll on June 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Attendees will be invited to explore the vegetated sand spit at the mouth of Slocum River where endangered shorebirds nest.
The stroll will also bring attendees along the estuary, salt marsh and forest areas where bird species such as oystercatchers, willets, ospreys and waders are expected to be seen.
Participants are encouraged to bring birding equipment, bug spray, and appropriate walking footwear.
Online registration is $10 for non-members and $8 for members.
