Senior citizens in Dartmouth can have their smoke detectors inspected and (if needed) replaced for free, thanks to the town’s Smoke Detector Program.

Eligible residents can call their local fire department to schedule an appointment. The department will handle installation and maintenance of the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and will even provide one-on-one fire safety education.
