Fencer Sayid Achilov from South Dartmouth scored a 2^nd place silver medal victory at the Summer Bay State Games June 10-11 in Boston. Achilov is part of the Rhode Island Fencing Academy & Club.

Achilov was competing in foil, the lightest among the three weapons. Sayid enjoyed a highly successful pool, winning all six bouts. He was, unfortunately, defeated in the gold medal bout against the fencer ranked number one in the event. 

Coincidentally, Sayid’s run in Junior Men’s Foil was ended by the same fencer.
