The cast and the audience shared many laughs during the show’s May 4 opening performance.
The fun-loving show followed Sophie, played by 9th grader Rowan Desautels, on her journey to meet her father. He is one of three men she hopes will give her away at her rapidly approaching wedding.
Desautels said she felt amazing going into the next three performances over the weekend.
The cast was elated after the show, radiating positivity for the culmination of months of hard work.
“I’m so excited. I absolutely love all the support that the crowd gave,” said senior Hannah Lima, who played Tanya. “The cast members, the crew [and] the directors are just incredible. It just helps so much putting the show together.”
The thrill of performing for a live audience, who were happy to laugh along and give a well-deserved standing ovation, got the adrenaline rushing for sophomore, Nadia Franco, who played Lisa.
“Oh my god. [I feel] ecstatic. This show, we've been working on it for a very long time, and it was so exciting to actually be able to perform it in front of a crowd, this is an unimaginable night,” she said.
Desautels, Lima and Franco were delighted to ‘go again’ in the remaining shows.
“With crowds like these, I’m so ready,” said Franco.
