Learn to sort waste with interactive game and prize drawing

Aug 27, 2020

Ever held an item and wondered if it belongs in recycling, trash, or hazardous waste? Now there’s a game to help out.

The Greater New Bedford Regional Refuse Management District is introducing Ready Set Sort! Dartmouth’s Waste Sorting Game, with a gift card giveaway for those who complete all levels.

Dartmouth residents are invited to visit dartmouthma.recycle.game or find the game on the town’s trash and recycling webpage to play.

Participants who finish the game can type their name on the certificate and take a screenshot to submit with an entry form at gnbrrmdistrict.org. by 11 p.m. on Sept. 9 for a chance to win a $20 gift card. Prizes are donated by Stop & Shop, Target, and Shaw’s in Dartmouth.

Winners will be announced on Sept. 14.

There are two separate giveaways, one for New Bedford residents and one for Dartmouth residents. Participants must live in Dartmouth and be at least 18 years old.

“While the contest is for adults, we definitely look forward to all school-aged children enjoying this fun and educational game!” said Marissa Perez-Dormitzer, Waste Reduction Manager for New Bedford and Dartmouth.
