Lillian (Lopes) Travers, 92, of Dartmouth died Jan. 21 peacefully at Sacred Heart Home.

She was the wife of the late Gilbert Travers.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Manuel and Angelina (Antunes) Lopes, she lived in Dartmouth most of her life.

Mrs. Travers was formerly employed as a legal secretary for various area attorneys, most notably Attorney Edmund Dinis.

She was a former member of the United Portuguese Women's Club.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Sacred Heart Home for their deep caring and concern during our mother's stay.

Survivors include her son, Michael Travers of Dartmouth; a daughter, Patricia A. Travers of Dartmouth; three grandchildren, Benjamin M. Travers and his wife Nancy, Jonathan G. Travers and his wife Barbara and Stacy Vieira and her husband Tony; six great-grandchildren, Benjamin M. Travers, Jr., Carly J. Travers, Nathan J. Travers, Cameron Nuttall, Genevieve Vieira and Nicholas Vieira.

She was the sister of the late Deolinda "Dell" Sylvia.

Her Graveside Service will be held on Monday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. in Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
