Meeting Street raises over $7,200 at annual radiothon in Dartmouth

Mar 7, 2020

Meeting Street announced this week that it raised more than $7,200 at its fourth annual Radiothon fundraiser in Dartmouth on January 24.

Louise Amaral of Sunrise Bakery presented a check for $7,289 to the Schwartz Center at Meeting Street for the fundraiser, which was held at Sunrise Bakery and co-sponsored by Fun 107 Cardi’s Furniture and Mattresses.

The annual event preceded the Meeting Street Telethon, which is the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year.

“We are truly appreciative of the partnership with Sunrise Bakery and Fun 107,” said Katelyn Champine, Assistant Director of Special Education at The Schwartz School at Meeting Street. “This event provides a great opportunity to connect with our local community in Dartmouth, and raise additional funds that allow Meeting Street to grow our services and bring our innovative, inclusive style of education and early childhood services to even more families in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.”

The five-hour broadcast is produced and aired by Fun 107 and features Meeting Street children, families and professionals as guest on-air hosts.

Proceeds from the 2020 Radiothon will go towards supporting Meeting Street’s mission. The organization serves more than 7,000 families in Rhode Island and Massachusetts each year with an inclusive style of education and early childhood services.

The Schwartz Center in Dartmouth is a not-for-profit charitable organization that offers a variety of programs to enrich the lives of children with special needs, children who have a developmental delay or are at risk.
