Nomination papers now available for April town election

Nomination papers for the annual town election are now available.

According to the Dartmouth Town Clerk’s Office, papers can be picked up at the office during normal business hours.

The annual town election is on Tuesday, April 6. The last day to obtain nomination papers is February 11. On that day, papers will be available until 5 p.m.

Nomination papers must be submitted to the Town Clerk's Office for certification by February 16, with a deadline of 5 p.m.

The last day to withdraw or object from the election is March 4, with a 5 p.m. deadline.

Town positions up for election this year include the Town Clerk, two seats on the Select Board, two each on the Planning Board, the Parks and Recreation board, and the Trustees of the Public Library, and one seat on the School Committee, the Board of Health, the Board of Assessors, and the Housing Authority. 

All terms are three years except for the Planning Board and the Housing Authority, which are five years.

Residents running for a town office must collect 50 signatures with their nomination papers. Those running for a spot as a Town Meeting Member need to collect 20 signatures.
