The town’s plastic bag ban will go into place on September 10, 2019.

Town administrator Shawn MacInnes said at the Jan. 28 Select Board meeting that he has mailed reminders to all the retail, wholesale, and restaurant businesses larger than 5,000 square feet about the impending ban.

The bylaw was approved by Town Meeting Members in June 2018.

The bylaw includes exemptions for certain items which need to be wrapped, like meat and seafood, or those that are pre-packaged, like newspapers.
