Resident arrested for alleged drunk driving in New Bedford

A Dartmouth man was arrested after nearly striking two officers with his vehicle on August 20, police said.
New Bedford Police arrested Logan McNamara, 32, of 130 Horseneck Road, after observing him driving above the speed limit near Union Street. He nearly struck two officers that were standing in the street and trying to grab his attention, police said.
Police tailed McNamara with lights and sirens, eventually stopping him on Park Street, according to a police log. An investigation determined that McNamara was under the influence.
McNamara was charged for operating under the influence of liquor, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and speeding.
