Senior center lot gets repainted

Parking for Council on Aging services is about to be a lot smoother — an achievement years in the making.

This weekend saw a much-needed upgrade to the Maria Connor Center for Activities, as crews from North Dartmouth Properties, Inc. volunteered their time to repaint the lines in its parking lot on Saturday.

The last time that these lines were painted, it was done by [us],” Friends of the Elderly Secretary Elanor White said. “It was some time ago and the paint had since faded.”

She added that this had been on the group’s agenda for at least three years, noting that there had been vehicle accidents due to the fading of the lines.

“Fortunately, no one was hurt,” White said.

Work and materials were all donated by Jackie McDonald, who is also a board member of the Dartmouth Council on Aging Board of Directors. She is also the mother of Select Board member Shawn McDonald.

“We are so grateful to Jackie and her three employees for the great job that they did,” White said. “Not only does it look good, it makes driving and parking at the Center a lot safer.”
