The Shawmut Diner, which was previously put up for auction by the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office, has sold to an online bidder for $20,200, according to the auction’s listing.

The auction started at $10, but after 148 bids, the price went up to $20,200, selling to an online user named Norwich387.

On the evening on July 26, the price was at $5,600, but over the course of the July 27 evening, two users entered a bidding war, pushing the price up an additional $15,000. 

The Bristol County Sheriff’s Office did not have information about the buyer’s name at the time of publication, and it’s unclear how soon the buyer will need to move the diner. The money will go to the state, not the Sheriff’s Office.
