Shellfish harvesting ordered to close for weekend storm
In what the State is calling a "preemptive storm closure," all coastal shellfish harvesting will be closed as of sunset on Friday, Sept. 15. The closure will remain in effect until further notice, as rainfall and runoff conditions require.
Hurricane Lee is predicted to mostly pass by the South Coast, but below tropical storm winds are predicted, with gusts up to 50 miles per hour. A tropical storm warning is in effect from Woods Hole to Hull, including Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.
