Shoppers rush to the School Store

Dec 20, 2018

Lisa Santos, who manages the School Store at Dartmouth High School, has had a busy holiday season.

“It’s been through the roof, actually,” Santos said. The store was open before holiday concerts the week before Christmas, and demand was so high that the store began running out of certain sizes and styles of Dartmouth-themed attire.

Santos said that this is the best holiday season the store has seen over her ten years of running it.

Santos sells everything from Dartmouth sweatshirts and t-shirts to decals, snacks, drinks, keychains, and granny square scarves at the store. The biggest seller this year is a pom-pom knit hat, similar to one the Patriots have been selling. Santos said that this is Dartmouth’s version.

The store is a non-profit which the students involved in DECA help run, and all the profits from the store go to the student activities fund.

Last minute shoppers have missed their chance to buy holiday gifts at the store, but it will be open after winter break for its regular hours: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. during full school days. The public is welcome to stop by the store, which is housed in the high school.
