Shred it all away: Greater New Bedford waste district sets Shredding Day
The Greater New Bedford Regional Refuse Management District will gold All Fall Paper Shredding Day on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the New Bedford High School parking lot.
There will be no residency requirements, so all individuals will be invited to attend this event. The shredding truck can only hold a limited amount of paper, so each individual is limited to bringing two boxes of paper, weighing no more than forty pounds each. Paper clips and staples do not need to be removed, but papers should be removed from folders and binders.
Shredding personal documents can help prevent identity theft and protect personal information.
The recycle bin is emptied into the Shred-it truck. Shred-it is certified by the National Association for Information Destruction and adheres to their stringent security practices and procedures. For safety purposes, participants are not able to watch the destruction of their paper.
