Spring Hazardous Waste Day canceled

May 13, 2020

The Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Day scheduled for May 30 for New Bedford, Dartmouth, and Freetown residents has been canceled.

The Greater New Bedford Regional Refuse Management District recommends that residents should secure away from children and pets any hazardous household waste including oil-based paints, paint
thinner, pesticides, or gasoline.

Latex paint should be dried out and thrown away in the regular trash.

Items such as motor oil, antifreeze, fluorescent light bulbs, TVs, and propane tanks should be taken to the Dartmouth Transfer Station. Residents with questions should call the Department of Public Works at (508) 999-0740.

For more information on hazardous waste, contact the district’s recycling office by email at marissa@gnbrrmdistrict.org or by phone at (508) 979-1493.
