Like teacher, like pupil: Quinn educators and students dress as each other for ‘Kindness Challenge’
From Jan. 22 to Jan. 26, Quinn Elementary School held its “Great Kindness Challenge,” a national program that asks students to complete a kindness-related task each day of the week.
The week came to a fun-filled conclusion with a special Friday spirit day: “Take a Walk in Someone Else’s Shoes.” The spirit day encouraged students to dress up as their teachers — and vice-versa.
The event was organized by the school’s Outreach Social Workers Tiffany Martin, Erin Gomes, Kelly Bloom and Melissa Sullivan.
“Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Gomes, Mrs. Bloom and Mrs. Sullivan work with Quinn students daily through facilitating social groups, teaching our Second Step Anti-Bullying curriculum, and working with students on developing social-emotional strategies,” said Assistant Principal Audra Thomas in an email. “Quinn School is lucky to have them.”
