Clam down
Get a little shell-fish in August and take a Saturday afternoon off to join the Smith Neck Friends Meeting for its annual clambake.
The meal begins at 1:30 p.m., but attendees are invited to come starting at 12 p.m. to watch the baking.
Tickets are $65 for adults, $32 for children 12 years and younger. For reservations, call Anne Lopoulos at 508-922-2758 or can be purchased on Eventbrite.
Take out is available from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. The event is handicap accessible and located at 594 Smith Neck Road.

Sunday, Aug. 11

A stroke luck
Come watch them hit it on the green.
The Knights of Columbus Fr. John F. Hogan Council #14236 is hosting its fourth Annual Golf Classic Sunday, August 11.
The shot gone start will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Hill in Lakeville, which according to the council is a Par 3 course with a “very interesting and challenging layout.”

Wednesday, Aug. 14

Party at the park
The Apponagansett Park Summer Concert series returns from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with Wild Nites, a cover band that includes a brass section.

Thursday, Aug. 15

Paws for a tale
Read to Darcie, a 5 year old golden retriever therapy dog, at the North Library Thursday, Aug. 15.
There are 15 minute sessions available starting at 3 p.m. Pre-registration is required. Call 508-999-0728 to book a session.
