The town will host four informational sessions on Jan. 9 about the potential installation of a town-owned internet service.

Attendees will have a chance to learn about the potential benefits of a town-owned broadband service, and have a chance to ask questions with experts on hand.

The first session of the day is for seniors, starting at 10 a.m., and will be hosted at the Council on Aging, located at 628 Dartmouth Street.

All other meetings of the day will be held in Town Hall, in Room 304. At 1 p.m., local businesses can hear how fiber optic broadband affects their work. The 3 p.m. meeting will focus on the school department.

The final session, at 6:30 p.m., is a public meeting for any residents who want about the study and share their experience getting internet access in town. There is no registration required for any of the free info sessions.

Attendees will have the opportunity to fill out the Broadband Internet Access Survey, about the possibility of a Town-owned fiber optic broadband network in Dartmouth.

If residents are unable to make the information session, but would still like to take the survey, it is available both online and in print (by request) until Feb. 9.

To learn more about the project visit dartmouthfiber.com or contact Peter Chasse at pchasse@town.dartmouth.ma.us or 508-984-1359.

The survey is available through dartmouthfiber.com or can be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/779JBTX.
